What's with all the zombie threads?

Since Wednesday we've had 7 reanimated threads, started up again by 4 different posters with no previous posting history.

Not sure why this is happening.

For new people on the board, it's generally considered bad form to reopen an ancient thread. If there's something you'd like to discuss just start a new thread!

Twitter has a lot of TRAs commenting that they’ve joined Mumsnet and found a post on something they deem unacceptable (Jazz Jennings seems the complaint du jour) and they’re reporting the threads, copying in MN Towers on Twitter to a screen grab and asking that the whole of FWR is removed from the forums.

My suspicion is it’s to do with that.

There has been at least one questionable thread on the main board today as well. It all looks a bit desperate.

There's a lot of trolls around hence the discussion on the Darvo thread comparing them to feeding chips to seagulls - if you entertain one they all flock in.

In addition I put up the thread about Online Trolling and Harassment describing the harmful effects of their verbal abuse on women - they really shouldn't be entertained at all….

I also suspect there's derailing going on by raising zombie threads that then push the other posts down the active list - hence the Darvo and Online Trolling/Harassment ones have virtually disappeared along with others. The only ones remaining showing are the ones actively being derailed by trolls (like the male violence one) plus the zombie posts

I suppose it means they take time off from insisting children are born in the wrong body Writersblock so could be considered a good thing. At least we can tell them to fuck off, unlike the six year olds they're targetting with this bollocks.

It may be more than one thing.
I remember necroing threads that I was interested in and not noticing the date was a year ago. People do it sometimes with news articles.

That said, there is an effort by some to start threads about transgender in order to prove that is all MN Feminists talk about. Or maybe they do it to try to center males in the conversations women are having because they are uncomfortable when we are not about them. Dunno.
I have noticed the newspaper articles have prompted a troll invasion demanding women attend to them because reasons.
