"Increasingly it looks like #MeToo didn’t topple the patriarchy – it showed how tenacious the patriarchy is at enforcing its stranglehold."

Incels?! What?! Jesus wept, what next

Ekphrasis · 28/04/2018 10:25

It's very good too. I do like that she mentions how boys are socialised.

A good one for the male violence thread.

For me, Hadley's article reinforces that, ultimately, it's up to us.

We, as women need to continue to organise, fight and remain in solidarity; believe each other in our stories and support one another. Men can be allies and their support welcomed but only as a bonus to our work.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 28/04/2018 11:25

What a brilliant article. I love the bit when she talks about how men have been solemnly explaining to women that groping isn't as bad as rape...... it made me laugh out loud (albeit in a world weary kind of way).

FermatsTheorem · 28/04/2018 12:08

I love Hadders! "Men years are like dog years.. "

Ereshkigal · 28/04/2018 12:31

Great articles from Hadley and Janice.

SlothSlothSloth · 28/04/2018 12:47

Yes good this time but did any of you read the article she wrote defending Woody Allen a few months ago? I usually agree with her but her “principles” only ever apply when it suits her.

LizzieSiddal · 28/04/2018 14:42

I’ve just read the Times article. Some of the comment are so bloody depressing. A lot of men telling women, it’s all their fault.

Tinycitrus · 28/04/2018 15:01

You are right - the comments are so depressing

Apparently if we legalised prostitution, taxed and regulated it there would be no ‘need’ for the Incel idiots. Hmm
