TerfAndSerf · 24/04/2018 22:39

MtF transgender Paris Valeta Bragazzi has been sent to a mens' prison after 'her' second assault on a police officer.

Bragazzi now has a total of 65 convictions.

A report on the tube incident seems to manage to avoid 'woman' at least metro.co.uk/2018/02/20/transgender-beautician-pushed-police-officer-onto-tube-tracks-four-bottles-prosecco-7327703/

TinklyLittleLaugh · 24/04/2018 23:57

The article pretty much spells out that the offender is a trans person though.

And she is going to a male jail.

The only thing I have issue with is how her crime is recorded.

Maryz · 24/04/2018 23:57

As an aside, can anyone see this thread in Active or Last 15 minutes?

Has the Feminism board been hidden again?

JustABrokenDoll · 24/04/2018 23:59

There were 2 assaults in the most recent incident.

One against a policewoman who was trying to arrest them for antisocial and criminal behaviour and the other 5 days later (spraying perfume into a security guard's face) whilst on bail for the original offence.

They were already on a suspended sentence for pushing a policeman onto train tracks some months earlier.

Then we have the small issue of their previous 63 (excluding the train track incident) offences.

I don't have any time for bleeding heart excuses for this serial offender irrespective of whether they are male or female.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2018 23:59

Yes, I can see it in active

AssassinatedBeauty · 24/04/2018 23:59

Yes it's on my active list.

Maryz · 25/04/2018 00:01

That is seriously weird. Do we have to "opt in" to Feminism? Because it's not in mine, and these threads used to be Confused

Maryz · 25/04/2018 00:02

In fact, nothing from Feminism in my Active, or in my Last 15 minutes or Last Hour [baffled]

ErrolTheDragon · 25/04/2018 00:04

No, I've done nothing special. Maybe some difference in criteria app vs browser or mobile? (I don't see why there would be but it's possible)

ErrolTheDragon · 25/04/2018 00:06

I'm seeing about 5 feminism chat threads in active at the moment.

Maryz · 25/04/2018 00:08

Sorry, somehow Feminism Chat was among my many hidden topics. It's really weird, because Adoption was there too, and a few others I would certainly never hide on purpose.

Anyway, sorry for derail; all sorted now.

viques · 25/04/2018 00:15

Aw bless "emotional pain" .well that makes it all right then doesn't it.

Trumpdump · 25/04/2018 00:55

I would rather the press didn't report these crimes than report them as FEMALE crimes! Angry

Honestly, this criminal is a violent waste of space, yet I just know that the TRA fan club will be harping on about the injustice of "Paris's" situation for the next few weeks!

Polynerd · 25/04/2018 01:02

Does anyone know whether it is possible to find out whether crimes such as these are recorded as being committed by women?
And on a more trivial note, what is it about the name Paris?

ErrolTheDragon · 25/04/2018 01:05

what is it about the name Paris?

Dunno - the bloke who ran off with the most beautiful woman and started a war seems an odd choice.

LightofaSilveryMoon · 25/04/2018 01:24

Posted by @Polynerd, this:

Yes, I'm very concerned about this issue of male crime being recorded as if committed by women. Because if so, it is recording and accepting lies as legal truths.

In the same way that Maria MacLachlan was instructed by the judge in her case to address her male attacker as "she" and "her" in court.

thebewilderness · 25/04/2018 02:02

That is the way it is being interpreted, it seems. There was a claim that the original birth certificate is not destroyed when they have the sex on the new one changed, for reference reasons in case of criminal activity.

TerfAndSerf · 25/04/2018 02:10

what is it about the name Paris?

Munich or Hamburg not romantic enough, I s'pose....

Oh, sorry, one line.

Mumsnut · 25/04/2018 06:39

I think there must be serious mental health issues here.

seekingsun · 25/04/2018 06:51

When I click on the link it new says ‘a transgender woman has been jailed’. Has that changed from the original?

A reminder it is possible to complain to the BBC quite easily about their coverage and they do respond.

The BBC will, I presume, have guidelines/ rules about how to refer to transgender people - does anyone know what they are? I would presume something along the lines of ‘refer to preferred gender unless the news items requires the actual sex for context’?

TerfinUSA · 25/04/2018 07:08

yes it's been changed, you can see version history here (they've not picked up the latest one yet)

QuentinSummers · 25/04/2018 07:43

He (paris' lawyer) said transitioning from one sex to another was "difficult enough" without having to deal with others' attitudes.
This really annoyed me. Paris is clearly an emotionally troubled, violent person but for some reason because Paris is trans that is all other people's fault and Paris doesn't have to take responsibility.
