Surely this is the true face of transphobia

Sorry for poor crop job am old school.
I saw this on twitter a couple of days ago and it has been bothering me since. So much I went to find it again today it's under #peaktrans which the TRA's are currently trying to take over.

I want to put aside the woman vs trans for a moment, and look at how awful these TRA's are to trans people. To call them true scum whilst trying to appropriate their experiences.
To say anyone can be trans just by saying they are and not needing to have dysphoria is dangerous and feels like gender reassignment surgery could end up like any body modification, piercing, having implants for spikes tongue splitting etc.

I don't even know what point I am trying to make here really, just that this is what people are blindly going along with. They don't want to seem uncool, or to side with the bigots. Except as that shows the TRA's are the bigots, to mock people with a genuine dysphoria is no different to gay bashing or using racist terms.

I might be missing something, but isn’t that’s just one post made by one individual? Surely in the same way that not all women are the same or hold the same view, not all trans people will have the same view? Yeah, it’s not a good post, but neither is it right to tar everyone with the same brush.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/04/2018 13:24

Yes, you're missing that the perjorative 'truscum' seems quite widespread among TRAs, its not 'one post by one individual'. Maybe poster @truscum might be a good person to ask for an assessment of the phenomenon?

Nousernameforme · 23/04/2018 13:44

Yes that is one post but there are many like it. That I feel is just the most blatant that I have come across. Search #peaktrans it's about 2 or 3 posts down and see the comments. You can see how they are convincing themselves they are right

I feel that if we could get more people to see how these tra's behave towards other people we would stand a better fighting chance.

It's unfortunately the inevitable conclusion of the slippery slope.

Men who feel like they've been born in the wrong body can become women through hormones and surgery

Surgery is dangerous and some men can't take that risk or expense but they should be considered to have transitioned and become women anyway.

People who have body dysphoria and hope to one day change their body are already 'women on the inside' and therefore they should be treated like women

People who have body dysphoria and no desire to change their bodies are women if they identify as such.

People who identify as women are women because they say so.

These is why we now have to go back to the start and say 'sorry, post-op passing transwomen. We know this is not really your fault and we were really trying not to exclude you but the fact is you've always been men, you can't become women, and we now have to draw a really clear line between women and transwomen in order to protect ourselves.'

ijustwannadance · 23/04/2018 16:41

The problem now is that the meaning of the term 'trans' has become so diluted, we might as well all be trans.
I don't know any woman who fits into the very narrow femine ideal that is now "woman".

It's like on that mermaids gender poster with the numbered muticoloured representations of people, ranging from Barbie to G.I. Joe. I range from 1-6 on any given day.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 23/04/2018 16:45

1 to 6?? There are now 6 to choose from?! I'm not googling Mermaids, it'll make my head explode

ijustwannadance · 23/04/2018 16:59

No, there are more but 7+ are going into perceived male identities

ijustwannadance · 23/04/2018 17:03

This one

R0wantrees · 23/04/2018 17:26

RedHoodGirl I'm surprised you aren't aware of how 'truscum' are viewed by some within the transgender community. Particularly some of those who are activists.
Twitter search will of course show some examples.

drwitch · 23/04/2018 17:30

is this actually on the mermaids site *ijustwanttodance ?

ijustwannadance · 23/04/2018 19:21

I haven't been on their website. Just type mermaids gender spectum images into google. There is an image of it being taught to group, police I think, with the mermaids logo in corner.

lordaloneknows · 23/04/2018 19:38

What's up with no. 7's arms?

drwitch · 23/04/2018 19:54

It looks like making a triangle with your arms is particularly female and having broad shoulders with straight down arms is male - still i suppose its not showing the #1 with a glittering clutch bag though

Truscum · 23/04/2018 20:19

Hey! In a bit of a rush tonight and have only just seen this but yeah this isn’t a one off.

I have had to leave my own local politics group too and this particular insult is one that is widely used by a lot of TRA’s to isolate those of us with gender dysphoria as not the ‘right sort’ of trans for this new beautiful movement.

It’s worked so well that we have actually developed a super power. We are completely invisible to any trans ally having a discussion about how trans people feel.

I have yet to have a reply from one to any point I’ve made or experience I’ve tried to share Grin

The good news is we are starting to be heard. I have another meeting with my mp next week to discuss why I think he should stand up and be counted with those who already starting to stick their neck out.

JustABrokenDoll · 23/04/2018 21:02

So, question - who do TRAs not dislike? There's uppity women on the hate list, obviously, and transsexuals, and drag queens (Glasgow Pride), and older women in general, and lesbians.

TRAs hate everyone except themselves.

They use their 'allies' to do their dirty work for them, then let them take the hit and the shit that follows. MsIntern is a prime example. She'll be yesterday's chip paper in the world of transactivism very soon indeed.

Most of the masked plonkers protesters at the Bristol meeting were 'cis'. Wind 'em up and let 'em go.

thebewilderness · 23/04/2018 21:03

#7 has a "wide stance".

Yes I've noticed this all over social media Thanks

Ereshkigal · 23/04/2018 22:00

YY. They don't actually like them. Not the women anyway. And they will turn on them viciously in a heartbeat for a slip up. Seen it many times.

JustABrokenDoll · 23/04/2018 22:07

It’s worked so well that we have actually developed a super power. We are completely invisible to any trans ally having a discussion about how trans people feel.

That was evident in the comments being posted on the livestream of the Jam Jar meeting.

Apparently, despite having had SRS, Miranda "isn't trans" and is just a "cross dresser" according to the allies.

lordaloneknows · 23/04/2018 22:19

#7 has a "wide stance".

And looks like two dislocated shoulders.

Confused

That’s great, good for you!
