These drugs are extremely unpleasant and dangerous. There’s a big cognitive hit with them as well. 7-8IQ points on average. Permanent affects too - they are not benign and fully reversible.
It’s basically experimenting on children. I work in clinical reasearch and the safeguards where children are concerned for any ‘new’ drug under development for market are (rightly) seriously rigorous.
I cannot understand how children are being given these drugs off label - it’s against all medical ethics guidelines. These children are not guinea pigs. They are effectively being given drugs with permanent negative effects without proper safeguarding or ability to consent.
Imagine if the world of commercial drug development did this - it’d be jail sentences of many years.
