Rattling cages, yes.

The most dangerous time for a woman who is being abused by a man is when she tries to leave. The more successful women are at standing up for ourselves, the more extreme the misogyny and anger is going to be. Many of these men are incredibly dysfunctional and narcissistic and they have become accustomed to being pandered to. Attempting to get this place delisted by Google is a grand example of the insane lengths a rejected man will go to - "if I can't have you then noone can!"

gamerchick · 16/04/2018 10:56

Though I think a better idea would be to get a couple of dozen trans inclusive feminists to start posting there regularly, in the nicest way possible. I'll get on to the powerful pro trans lobby and get some minions assigned to the task. We control the politicians, we control the media, taking over Mumsnet should be simple enough

They’re not very nice people really are they? Confused

Ereshkigal · 16/04/2018 10:59

They should be careful what they wish for. Stopping other people from speaking about things you disagree with (unless directly threatening or inciting violence) is all very well. Not so great when it happens to you.

treaclesoda · 16/04/2018 11:07

Love it when someone tries to claim the truth is a lie, especially when it is so easy for everyone to verify.

TRAs aren't big on irony are they?

It's pretty easy to verify that men aren't actually biological women. Yet apparently that's different Hmm

TheHumanMothboy · 16/04/2018 11:07

Imagine that, a site with millions of users sometimes has some of them posting things that others don't agree with?
Astonishing. Hmm
But no, as MNers are mostly women, we obviously all collectively think as one, don't we?

MissPiggysKarateChop · 16/04/2018 11:24

In fairness - I don't think this statement ^^ was a meant to be serious, it was more a dig at us for believing in a powerful trans lobby.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 16/04/2018 11:26

Meh, if google removes mumsnet then 12 million mumsnet users change their default browser.
I think the DV most dangerous time analogy is spot on.

TerfsUp · 16/04/2018 11:28

They’re not very nice people really are they?

I have no opinion on how nice they are or aren't but they aren't very bright.

I, for one, look forward to scrolling past the seagull posts.

Ereshkigal · 16/04/2018 11:29

Yes. They're deadly serious about putting pressure on MN though. Also quite instructive to read the thread about the speakers corner court case and how they frame it as intimidation of a trans person.

Ohforfoxsakereturns · 16/04/2018 11:44

It’s all beginning to hurt my head.

These women hate women because women want to talk about things which directly affect women, including women’s safety, reproductive systems, inequality and don’t centre these women and if we as women don’t centre women we aren’t allowed to speak about women.

Got it.

Frankly if some of these very vocal trans women showed any understanding of what it means to be a biological woman, then the world would be a better place.

Thanks to mumsnet I know there are many trans women who do understand, and who do speak up and who are shown no ‘hate’ whatsoever on these boards.

I am grateful to them.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 16/04/2018 12:00

Lol at that link spontaneous. So they control the politicians and the media so apparently taking control over MN will be easy Grin

Aeroflotgirl · 16/04/2018 12:06

Wow this is the demolision of free speech and democracy. Silenced by TRA with their male power and priviledge. Funny how you do not find many transmen doing this, most TRA seem to be Transwomen aka biological men. Biological women are being shouted down and silenced. People are being silenced if they dare speak anything different than the mantra. In affect what will be created is young people who cannot challenge, or think critically, they will be railroaded into a certain line of thinking, as the truth and the way they must think. Sounds very dangerous.

spontaneousgiventime · 16/04/2018 12:07

DrinkFeckArseGirls I admit to a small grin when I read it. They really don't like being linked here and being seen for what they say and called out on it. Makes you wonder what's said in the private members section. Wink

Aeroflotgirl · 16/04/2018 12:07

Mabey the TRA should consult women's groups and work together, and have some understanding about women's issues and concerns, which they don't seem to have.

Beyond11cisRetinol · 16/04/2018 12:17

Somehow I knew I'd have to change twitter accounts to read that link...

Plus side though - should they succeed - look at the coverage that "activists try to attack mn through advertisers" has received.

Imagine the coverage for "Following justine's interview last week, American company Google delists UKs most popular parenting site"

Ohforfoxsakereturns · 16/04/2018 12:22

The lack of empathy the TRAs have for women makes their maleness shine through, and they do no favours for the trans community. They damage the public perception far more than women, who just want to protect themselves and their rights which keep them safe.

It’s shitty Male behaviour excusing shitty Male behaviour.

I thought I had peaked, listening to India Willoughby on Talk Radio, well, i’m peaking all over the shop now.

BigChocFrenzy · 16/04/2018 12:28

TRAs are just another group of abusive MRAs

but with far more power, because several wealthy / influential narcissistic men are TRAs
wheres most other MRAs are pathetic failures in life

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 16/04/2018 12:45

It's an American trying to shut down the UK's biggest online support network for pregnant women and mothers... Just because they don't like that some of Mumsnet's members want to discuss proposed changes to UK legislation.

Thanks Easter you put it so well.

I don't get the whole talking about female biology (breastfeeding, menstruation etc) is triggering. Why don't they just ignore it? It's like me wanting to go to a prostate health support group or indeed a support group for any condition I don't have - I just wouldn't ever even consider it as it's nothing to do with me. I just don't get it - unless of course it's really all about trying to control women...... Hmm

Ohforfoxsakereturns · 16/04/2018 12:51

See, I don’t get that either. Instead of campaigning for specific rights (such as specific medical treatment) why their energy is being put into muscling their way into women’s spaces, which aren’t created or designed for them.

Women are great at fighting hard for themselves and each other. We make great allies. How are we the enemy?

AnitaLovesVictor · 16/04/2018 13:25

It's triggering because it reminds them that they are not biological women - and we've all got to follow the gender religion and agree they are real women (see India Willoughby on Julia HB's today) and women can have lady penises.

But more importantly - this needs to be seen as what it is - a men's rights movement, pushing back women's rights.

ladyme · 16/04/2018 13:29

To be fair, it's about time mums knew their place 🙄

2rebecca · 16/04/2018 21:49

Their bullying tactics and hatred of free speech make me really angry.
I completely disagree with their view that men with no intention of removing their penises should be considered female in any way (they could be feminine but femininity is largely learned/ socialized behaviour combined with personality traits in my view). I also think the GRA is nasty, Orwellian legislation.
I have no desire to stop people who support these from meeting to discuss them and from campaigning for what they want. That's democracy. Democracy isn't just allowing the people who agree with you to speak.
