Just in case anyone wanted to complain about MN literally killing thousands of people....this tweeter gives a full cut n paste of what to say:

Of course I'm blocked, hello "Susan" Never heard of you before but appreciate your self-silencing block keeping my Twitter experience free of at least one droning, testerical bore. Ta muchly.

AnitaLovesVictor · 15/04/2018 21:01

YY Absinthe. Me too, re: the Guides letter. I decided enough was enough and put my name to it. And Justine is indeed being called a terf.

And think of the Primary School that is currently the subject of the TAs attention, for holding the WPUK meeting there last Thursday. They're going for them, copying in the local MP, and naming a woman who they think allowed the meeting. A primary school ffs.

invisibleoldwoman · 15/04/2018 21:30

Ooh! I must be doing something right. I’m blocked from that account. Feel like a proper feminist now.

HopScotchy · 15/04/2018 21:42

Why are they so scared of people talking? 'Biological sex' is a search term for hate speech? This is too much.

EasterRobin · 15/04/2018 21:48

Can anyone else on Twitter please also flag this tweet for organised harassment?

NotTerfNorCis · 15/04/2018 21:51

The fanaticism just reeks in those tweets. Alternative opinions will not be tolerated - including a belief in biological sex.

thebewilderness · 15/04/2018 21:51

Why are they so scared of people talking?
Because men have been stripping women and girls or their rights in the name of equality for 14 years and were on the verge of abolishing them all, except the right to vote for men. The more people talk about what has been done already the less willing they will be to do more.
The consequence of laws and rules already instituted is now right out on front street for everyone to see and talk about.

moofolk · 15/04/2018 21:52

I always think its hilarious when someone shouts hate speech and bigotry then goes on to lift examples like 'claims gender identity isn't real' and 'thinks a person born with a penis is male'.

Ok then.

thebewilderness · 15/04/2018 21:53

Are they threatening to beat up the children yet?

AnotherQuoll · 15/04/2018 22:01

Because they're resentful and controlling misogynists, in a state of determined denial, and more than anything, they know they're imposters. The more they hide their eyes from everyday life and words, the more sensitive they become, and.the more stuff they need to hide from. It's like some kind of avoidant personality disorder.

LangCleg · 15/04/2018 22:17

Well, I suppose this is what you get when politicians and institutions fall over themselves to validate unstable and narcissistic misogynists. Sigh.

AngryAttackKittens · 15/04/2018 22:33

Well that was ridiculous reading.

flowersonthepiano · 15/04/2018 23:07

@EasterRobin I've reported it on twitter too

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 15/04/2018 23:20

Imagine trying to take away a resource that helps millions of women through pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding PND and the havoc of parenting (for starters) because you don’t agree with biology.

After my second child was born my PND was terrible, I spent months crying and MN got me through it, I dread to think where I would be without it.

AnitaLovesVictor · 15/04/2018 23:37

The truth is, the TAs probably hate mumsnet for many reasons, even without the FWR forum.

  • It's a place where women discuss stuff.
  • It's a place that is heavily centred on female biology and women's issues, from conception to menopause. We freely discuss male violence and sexual harassment, and it's impact on women.
  • It's got the word 'Mum' in it's name.

At it's extreme end, the TRA movement is indistinguishable from the MRA movement.

AnitaLovesVictor · 15/04/2018 23:39

If the TRAs get their way - half the language on this site will be dismissed as 'transphobic'. Because it relates to biological women and their experiences. There's already talk of "chest feeding" "pregnant person" and "menstruater" in the NHS.

That's why we must stand up to this. Our language is being revolutionised without our consent.

AngryAttackKittens · 15/04/2018 23:44

What's the proposed new non-biologically-specific name for post natal depression? After Experience That Could Happen To Anyone And That Has Nothing To Do With Being Female Unhappiness?

DarthArts · 15/04/2018 23:50

Goodness me.

I don't really know where to start with that twitter feed - it's all so utterly and easily refuted.

Pratchet · 16/04/2018 00:44

Isn't the independence of the internet at stake with a law case in the US? Even if google delisted it wouldn't take down MN. What could? Could anything?

Pratchet · 16/04/2018 00:45

I fear there will be efforts to tie MN up in expensive legal cases however feeble or unlikely to succeed.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 16/04/2018 01:00

This is very sinister - you can always spot an MRA in disguise by their aggressive tactics - mob complaining to Google (the boss) is a huge escalation - as Google has the power to block MN. That would severely disrupt their business income and operation.

California, where Google & Twitter reside, treats Trans as a protected minority and shuts down any criticism of them as hate speech - they have really drunk the kool-aid over there. Google should be under EU legislation for UK operation (another reason to stay in Europe) so it may not be an easy thing to block MN - but don't estimate these tactics - as we have seen time and time again - one complaint by a man to a man results in women getting sanctioned and deplatformed - I'll get back to this later but do contact google and Twitter and complain

Pratchet · 16/04/2018 01:43

I don't think it can be dismissed. We think it is ludicrous because of the pace of change in the UK. But the zeitgeist elsewhere is still very pro trans self ID and anti women. Voices out of these countries are like messages out of Gilead: please keep going, we are lost here, don't give up. It's very sad and frightening.

DonkeySkin · 16/04/2018 01:45

I agree. We shouldn't scoff at this. This is dangerous. This scares me. They are determined to stop women from talking and so far they have been largely successful at it. Mumsnet is one of the few places in the world where women can freely discuss the logic and the impact of trans ideology. Almost all other feminist/progressive sites run complete censorship on this issue.

Tech companies increasingly control the world, and trans-identified males are hugely overrepresented in IT. It only takes one influential TIM at Google to completely shut down women's free speech. And they need to shut it down, because open discussion exposes this anti-woman, anti-child, anti-reality ideology for what it is: the new patriarchal state-enforced religion.

EasterRobin · 16/04/2018 02:14

I've just realised this person isn't even British. It's an American trying to shut down the UK's biggest online support network for pregnant women and mothers... Just because they don't like that some of Mumsnet's members want to discuss proposed changes to UK legislation.

Words fail me.

Pratchet · 16/04/2018 02:21

It's horrific. And sometimes I think some transactivists have nothing else in their lives except shutting down women. And Pritzker et al.

On the plus side, it's a demonstration of how important the UK is to the rest of the world. If the UK rows forward away from this, other countries will pause in the march against women's rights, and some countries may follow us.
