FWR topic hidden from Active Conversations

I've only just found out about this Sad

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/3218304-Some-topics-not-showing-up-in-searches?pg=1&order=

How can this be right? I'm a regular lurker on these threads but always via Active Conversations. I see the issue's been mentioned on a couple of other threads in FWR but they'd completely passed me by (for the same reason I guess).

I do understand MN are under pressure from advertisers. And I also understand that many MN users are becoming fed up of the number of trans threads. But to hide all Feminist chat threads from Active Conversations? Sad

Is there an alternative solution? I would even prefer a separate Trans topic if it meant that discussion of other Feminist issues would not be suppressed in this way.

I'm not sure what the answer is but interested in others' views. There are various threads praising MN for not bowing to pressure on this issue but it seems to me that's exactly what they're doing.

I agree. I am very impressed by the statement that Roberts has made in the face of what must have been significant pressure, but I am very concerned indeed that FWR remains hidden.

I feel as if this is a compromise they've teachers - big statement about supporting free speech, but then quietly hiding the bits the advertiser's don't like.

I found out via the Justine in The Times thread.

I had noticed stuff not appearing in Active, but I tend to use 'I'm watching' a lot more than trawling Active.

Off to site stuff to find out more, but not happy about this at all.

I've just realised this too. Been away for two weeks and surprised to find there there was no discussion of these issues in 'Active Conversations' which is where I usually look.
It does feel like censorship. One of the most concerning aspects of the 'Trans' issue is the way that womens voices are being silenced. Can't escape the feeling that this is what's happening here.

MNHQ have just said on the AIBU thread that we're coming off the naughty step next week when Tech are in. Well done everyone & stick to it - TGLWGH

Oh great, Tallulah. I'm glad HQ have seen sense.

That's good to hear Talluah as I too only saw that that this section had been hidden and I'm not impressed!
