Let’s talk about sexism

It seems an age since I heard the term “sexism” on television or written in the press.

Without going (too far) into the trans debate, why is this? I seemed to notice it fading away years ago and for about a decade now it seems to have been lost as a word, certainly I don’t think I’ve heard a friend or colleague under the age of 55 ever use it.

Why has sexism been forgotten? Can we talk about it more often? Use the word? Make sure it isn’t forgotten

If you can't acknowledge sex then you can't talk about sexism.

This is a Police Scotland poster that's on buses where I am - with the tag line "If you don't report it, we can't sort it" or words to that effect.

Oddly enough this question caught up with me yesterday. I had been wondering when this term had fallen out of favour. Linked with the Equality Act superseding the Sex Discrimination Act?

Either our society is just, fair, safe and and equal, or it isn't.
Women are saying it isn't. A lot of people seem very happy to have it this way, as long as they can pretend inequality doesn't exist. Or wont affect them.

I think its time to start telling people to stop pretending they oppose inequality while actually supporting it.
You either believe in justice or you don't. You shouldn't get to support injustice, while at the same time benefiting from the social kudos of supporting a fake 'equality'.

Well, I've done my bit today, I've reinserted the word "sex" in a client's privacy policy.
