www.theguardian.com/books/2018/apr/09/about-the-boys-tim-winton-on-how-toxic-masculinity-is-shackling-men-to-misogyny this is a really powerful and thought provoking article I think

My comment "no shit Sherlock" was deleted - I wonder why

It seemed to me that there were a few articles this weekend within a similar theme.

Well missbonita, I didn't really know about how men are together on their own. I've merely speculated. I'm probably very naive but I found this article very illuminating. The thing is, I am 53 and had 2 sisters and 3 female cousins and went to an all girls school. I've always been very shy although I've rarely been without a male partner in my life. I have tended to have partners who were themselves shy and didn't have huge social scenes going on. So again I didn't get to encounter groups of males or the man's man type of man. I suppose people who have brothers or have busy social lives wouldn't be surprised by the article but it will be very helpful to me as I have a 12 year old son as well as 3 older girls, and we all are keen that he will continue to be a very lovely boy and a wonderful young man who treats women well.
