I just watched this on iPlayer. I know this issue has been covered a few times but I thought this documentary was a bit different. It doesn’t go into the feminist issues in any depth. However, what I found interesting was how uncomfortable the male presenter seemed to be with the idea of sex robots, and he also was so affected by one of the dolls having a childlike body that he cried at the sight of it.
In other similar programmes the presenters have seemed to view the idea as a strange fetish to be laughed at rather than something genuinely concerning for women and girls. I’d like to see him present more on the issue and be given more time to get into the morality of the sex robots.
