All men should be made to read the thread on here that starts something like, "What's the worst thing to ever happen to you?". I believe it was intended to be almost lighthearted but post after post after post showed just how terrifying it is being a woman, being chased down by strange men when alone. Or men trying to drag us into alleyways. Or into cars. Or taking us to different destinations when in a car with them.

A man would say, "A first date? What's the worst that could happen. She could be horrible/I could get stuck with the whole bill?"
A woman would say, "what the worst that could happen? I could be raped and murdered."

It really has come to the point where women can’t take steps to avoid a potentially dangerous situation without being accused of racism or transphobia. And we’ve just seen the end of a rape trial in NI where a woman was asked multiple times by a a defence barrister (and half the fucking population) if it was rape why didn’t she scream. Why? Because she isn’t fucking allowed to. We’re not allowed to protect ourselves, defend ourselves or ask for help when harmed.

I can’t being myself to watch it. When I was a a student I remember being followed by a man at night on my way home- just as I entered a pedestrian underpass. I started to run and he hurled abuse at me for it. It had nothing to do with race and everything to do with being a small woman being alone in an underpass with a man who had crossss the street and changed direction to follow me. It was so, so scary. I remember thinking “So, this is how my rape happens.”
The poor woman being victimised by this idiot has my utmost sympathy and I hope someone is looking after her.

The behaviour this man showed, chasing her and intimidating her, shows that he is in fact a danger to women. She was right to be scared of him! He harassed her, intimidated her and followed her home. She must have been terrified, and now she's all over the Internet without her consent.
