Extraordinary. 50,000 people blocked! On what basis? Someone on the Twitter thread linked says that there are data protection issues ahead for the Green Party.

No debate!

So for them Twitter consists of a few of their mates plus a handful of teenagers who spend too much time on Tumblr? That's definitely what I'm looking for in a party to vote for, an adamant refusal to engage with potential voters.

Lalalalalalalalala can’t hear you.

HairyBallTheorem · 03/04/2018 21:10

Isn't that more than the number of people who actually vote Green? Wink

Actually, I jest, it's not quite that bad for them. The Greens polled just over half a million votes in the last election (I just looked it up). So they're blocking a number of potential voters which amounts to 10% of the people who actually voted for them! Not the world's most effective strategy for a minority party I would have thought.

No worries, they will succeed based on the purity of their vision. Rise, non-men, and vote Green!

Legally - where do they stand on this?
The list contains some people's real names, and because it is supposedly a list of 'transphobes', being on the list is being used against people in their work etc.
Isn't there a data protection issue here?

Blimey
I went to Aimee’s Twitter (I’m not blocked Sad) and saw this gem from a Pink News story:
The Green Party is calling for trans youth to have the right to legally change gender without parental consent.
Seriously?!
