James Caspian is challenging Bath Spa University’s refusal to allow him to research people who reverse gender reassignment, fundamentally on the basis that it might attract unpleasant comments on social media.

The target amount is now £50k according to the update. They already have £14k and if this target is met the fund will be a total of £16k, so further crowd funding will be needed. I'm assuming the £2k target cannot be changed?

No research on this subject can be trusted if some research is suppressed on political grounds.

Every study will raise an eyebrow, since it impossible to prove a lack of bias in a climate where you are only allowed to ask certain questions, speak to certain people or draw certain conclusions otherwise you bring institutions into disrepute.

This isn't just about freedom of speech, it is about the legitimacy of acadmic research. We can't trust it right now.
