So Eddie Izzard gets her spot on the LP NEC folks.

I just saw.

He had previously said he wanted to stand for the executive to "break down barriers" and make the party more welcoming to groups who feel "isolated or excluded". according to the BBC.

CorbynTrouserPress · 31/03/2018 20:37

and make the party more welcoming to groups who feel "isolated or excluded".

That would be women these days. Not sure he's cut out for that job....

Trueheart1 · 31/03/2018 20:45

At least he does not claim to be a woman. We can be thankful for small mercies. However, he did insult Lesbians by calling himself a "Male Lesbian"

yetanothertranswoman · 31/03/2018 20:46

Not sure he's cut out for that job

Eddie describes himself as transgender. But he doesn't seem to have an issue with 'he' and the whole mind / body thing that transsexuals have. He used to be all about the 'this are just clothes' in his sketches but then went down the transgender route. But then again, it seems that cross dressing and wearing nail varnish and a pink beret means you are transgender nowadays.

DarthArts · 31/03/2018 21:49

Tbh I don't know if it's good or bad

His twitter feed still seems very much a lot of old Eddie with beard and suits as much as this new Eddie. Reserving judgement.

LizzieSiddal · 31/03/2018 22:11

He is antibrexit and Momentum don’t like him, so for me, that’s two positive things.

However, I’m sure he’ll be very pro self ID.

auntycartmanslargertesticle · 31/03/2018 22:41

His campaign statement when he ran for the NEC contrasted with ALL the other candidates as being all me me me. I did this I did that I am SO fabulous and an absolute star.
No expectations.
None.

SpringNowPlease2018 · 31/03/2018 22:45

He's calling himself a male lesbian?!

BarrackerBarmer · 31/03/2018 22:48

This would be the Eddie Izzard who castigated some young girls for daring to object to him, a middle aged man in their toilets?
Or Eddie Izzard, with the boy genetics and girl genetics depending on his nail varnish?

Oh this will be a car crash.

lucydogz · 31/03/2018 22:48

I think he is a preening ninny with no useful experience to bring to the NEC. But the majority of the Labour front bench fit that description as well so business as usual.

GoodyMog · 31/03/2018 23:02

Trueheart1 Um.. sorry to break it to you, but he believes he has "boy genetics and girl genetics"

Trumpdump · 31/03/2018 23:03

This may be a good thing... he has a habit of saying outlandish dramatic things, which is rarely a vote winner. I think he could peak trans a lot of people.

QueenLaBeefah · 31/03/2018 23:21

I certainly think he will peak trans an entire nation. I distinctly remember him on the run up to the European referendum on Question time (I was and still am a remainer) and thought to myself "Eddie, just shut the fuck up!" He managed to make Nigel Farage seem rational.

ElBandito · 31/03/2018 23:33

Yes, Queen I remember that last QT before Brexit. IMO Izzard probably caused Brexit Confused. I’m a firm Remain but he was seriously pissing me off. Constantly talked about himself, how many marathons he’s done and how many languages he speaks Hmm

Yambabe · 01/04/2018 00:56

It was Eddie who peak transed me some months ago now.

Eddie as a hetero man who liked to wear skirts and make-up and do surreal stream-of-consciousness comedy? Brave, funny and a great role model for breaking down gender stereotypes. Loved him.

Eddie now claiming he was trans in the 80s/90s, he is both man and woman depending how he feels on a given day and wants to be a trans MP just cos he sometimes wears a skirt and make-up? Bandwagon-jumping desperate attention seeker, ODFOD.

Trueheart1 · 01/04/2018 09:37

Uggh Goody Mog. I spoke too soon.
