Missing neighbour

I've just been woken up by the police at 8am looking for my neighbour’s 17 year old daughter who babysits for us.

She was meant to be looking after the cat when we go on holiday tomorrow but last minute had told me couldn’t as was going to Dubai which I had thought was rather odd.

The police say that they strongly suspect she has been taken to Pakistan for an honour based intervention and are extremely concerned. Crikey!!! Very worried. They texted her from my phone and she read it then switched phone off.

Her college had raised concerns previously - traditional Pakistani family, quite western dressed and seeming girl, and now has been missing for a week.

I'm appalled that this could happen, and worried.

How awful, I’m so sorry

Oh how terrifying. I hope she's okay and comes home safe and well.

feathermucker · 30/03/2018 09:05

Poor girl. Hope she's ok

ReluctantCamper · 30/03/2018 09:17

I'm so sorry to hear this I hope that it's not sinister at all, or that the authorities manage to intervene.

How bloody terrifying Sad

Gileswithachainsaw · 30/03/2018 09:21

Oh jeez so chilling Sad I hope she is found and returned safe .

Will keep everything crossed

Just awful :(

I know, I was / am horrified ! We hear dad shouting a lot and I once asked him to stop - he said it was because the kids were naughty and his wife was depressed. The police told me there had been DV issues in the past so they were extremely concerned.

Am now wondering if the text was even sent by her. They are not a Dubai holiday kind of family so the whole thing is seeming more suspect the more I think about it.

The police seem to be sharing a remarkable amount of information with you.

newtlover · 30/03/2018 14:59

that's very worrying, but beyond telling the police wnything you can think of there's nothing much you can do

smithsinarazz · 31/03/2018 10:02

Oh, horrible. I do hope she's ok.

Still no sign ... police called me yesterday to ask if had heard from her as still investigating. Pretty worried!
