It's as if a lot of people have the same opinion on this..

In no other situation is ignorance an excuse (See judge's third instruction).

That's true mikado I use to frequently hear legal experts saying ignorance of the law is no defence until I heard about rape law. That is why this honest and reasonable belief in consent needs abolishing.
Either you consent or don't. Prosecution will still have to prove beyond reasonable doubt you did not consent. That is enough protection from miscarriages of justice.
