I have delved into the dark underbelly of Twitter and so have had the "privilege" to come across some proper trans activists.

Some gems including someone who really believes women cannot tell the difference between men who say they're women and women. That it's "gaslighting" of me to suggest anyone can tell the difference.

And another tra lecturing me how transmen have the exact same physiological structure as men (because taking hormones) so he really cannot understand how transwomen should be excluded from women's sport. "Arm/leg lengths differ between people I have short legs = therefore all men should be included with women in sport" because artificial hormones.

Other gems... I have cis privilege because I think transwomen with penises should be seen as a type of Man... (let's just say I reject cis anyway and my years living as a prostitute is it really seen as a privilege?)

I'm not sure what sort of social media conversations you are all having but it is horrible being a GC feminist out there!

Hi everyone. I have only just joined MN this evening, after a couple of horrendous weeks immersing myself in this car crash. I'm on Gransnet and an MN'er posted about the petition and the guides disaster-waiting-to-happen so that led me here. I have at times been very depressed about it, feeling quite at sea. I'm planning on submitting something written to Brian Paddock - I have no idea if he will accept that but worth a try. I think he, like most, think this about post-op trans people being treated badly by society. Far from the truth as we all know. I'm hoping we can educate him. But I am also confused by the sheer amount of stuff I could cover and need to drill down into what's important to me and what might not get covered by those who go to meet up with him. Though it look as though Jenny Jones is amenable.

I have DM'd a few people in my area who want to meet up. However, I am already wondering 'what if they're TRAs in disguise and will put the boot in?' I am so angry that I have to think like that in 21st century Britain.

Anyway, very glad to have your company.

It is shocking to feel the need to protect your identity, name change, and generally take precautions to stay safe. Simply because you assert that women are women.

@picklemepopcorn I think you are right. I remember being told that feminism was just penis envy back in the mid 29th C. But I’ve been remembering that recently and thinking how now it’s obvious projection!

So we had penis envy? I've envied the better job opportunities, respect and entitlement that come with a penis but not the penis itself.

They now have womb envy. Bizarre.

I am not sure that twitter is the way to do this. It is the equivalent of stepping onto the floor of the coliseum as a protest against gladiators. You either get overwhelmed or have to fight so hard that the virtue of your point is lost.

The key to this is parliament and influencing parliamentarians. It is MPs and Lords who will or won’t make this into law at the end of the day.

I've wondered about that MaybeDoctor. But this seems to have come from twitter, so that platform is influential...

However I've had to step away after brief forays on there. when someone starts telling you that you literally want to kill transwomen (I really, really don't), you kind of realise there is zero point talking to them.
