So basically it's fine to sell badges saying "die Cis scum" however they will not stock badges saying lesbians don't have penises.

Some more badges that they do sell.

However these they refuse to stock.

So one set incite violence to 99% of the population and are A-ok, the other set state biological facts and are banned?
This is ludicrous.

Has the ruling come from Etsy management? Have they issued a statement?

Good job I got mine when I did.

People only need to buy one from Etsy and then they have the seller's contact details and can ask for additional designs direct.

Does Etsy not have guidelines? I’m shocked every day by the hate out there but that’s quite something-surely it’s got to fall foul of their T&C’s?

Can we complain about the bad ones?

The main offending badges do not appear to be on Etsy (though perhaps someone will do a more thorough search than me). I did see the unpleasant 'fuck TERFS ones'. Came across these too:

The thing with Etsy is that it is completely user policed. Users are expected to report any items that breach Etsy terms and then Etsy will look at them and remove if they are in breach. They do occasional sweeps for illegal bits but that's about it. You can report any individual item or shop to Etsy.

I've reported those badges before - got no reply. It's why I don't use Etsy.

I have a ‘woman not cis’ badge. :D

I don’t really care if people want to sell anti-feminist badges. I do object to them coming up in my recommendations, though. Based on my purchase history, Etsy thought I would like ‘if your feminism isn’t trans inclusive, it isn’t fucking radical’. head desk

What's a SWERF?

Sex Worker Exclusionary Radical Feminist. Obviously used as an insult/slur, like TERF. Some people like to respond that they are actually PPERFs - Pimp and Punter Exclusionary Radical Feminists instead.

I reported this kind of thing last year. No response from Etsy. T shirts with "Terf puncher" on them.

I've reported the "die, TERF" badges a million times and got no response. It's really put me off Etsy.
