I've not read the details but some of you might want to see if your school is on there and what exactly is being championed within it.

Is anyone else finding that the list has disappeared from the website? Is it just me?

HawkeyeInConfusion · 25/02/2019 22:24

It has disappeared for me too.

drspouse · 25/02/2019 22:26

It has. I'm thinking it was those who went on the original "how not to be homophobic" training but it was too transphobic for the Brave And Stunning New Stonewall.

Here's the archived version

How weird that the link is no longer working.
It’s the subject of a (fairy innocuous) MN thread and then it suddenly disappears...

Lemoncakestrudel · 25/02/2019 23:16

Lots of linked schools in my area. Bet lo’s c of e school joins soon, even though its full of muslim children who could not join in with the whole trans agenda.

newtlover · 25/02/2019 23:21

thanks for the archived list- are you saying it dates from a pre trans version of Stonewall?

SeaWitchly · 25/02/2019 23:27

Ova I just watched that Popnolly video from the link you posted.
Oh my days.
So the message was is that if you are innovative and inventive you cannot possibly be a girl and accept your life being bullied by males and taking on all the housework and jobs they consider beneath them.
No! You must wear a suit and cut your hair and become a boy!
Then you can ditch the housework, drive around in a nifty little car and woo a princess no less.

Are they really showing this absolute rubbish to young minds in our primary schools? What a load of restrictive, antiquated and plain offensive stereotypes of femininity and masculinity

There does seem to be a lot of shit floating around. On the ten o'clock news there was a teacher talking about this new teach kids about relationships initiative. He said that in yr 2 the teaching about same sex relationships was covered by telling the kids about two male penguins who raised an egg together. Is that even a thing?!

shaddzymay · 26/02/2019 17:51

I work in one and its not on the list

MillytantForceit · 26/02/2019 17:56

Apparently so, in a zoo.

Bereaved and single penguins of both sexes can raise orphans, but they are just as likely to attempt abduction and rip them apart in process.

Beamur · 26/02/2019 18:04

Homosexuality in animals, like the penguins, I think has been observed in both captive and wild animals. The instinct to pair bond is very strong.
DD's primary school is a Stonewall champion. I emailed them and asked some questions but didn't get a response before she left. High school is not one.

feministfairy · 26/02/2019 18:15

Another one who is conflicted. Stonewall has produced some excellent resources over the years - especially anti bullying work.
But now they produce inappropriate trans materials that misrepresent the law, advocate to remove the rights of children to sex segregated spaces and essentially bully any child who doesn't comply with the trans ideology that I now look at them with scepticism.
And given the speed with which they announced the appointment to their trans advisory group of someone who knowingly appointed a pedophile and who was found to have failed with their understanding of safeguarding, I now question how competent they are to have anything to do with children? To appoint someone with these credentials to a post that advises schools??

youllhavehadyourtea · 26/02/2019 18:17

My children's school is not on the list but is a champion school.

There are no Scottish schools included on the list.

OhHolyJesus · 26/02/2019 18:26

Thanks for the link Dr Spouse, interesting to know about schools that are not on the list, just a failing to keep the list up to date online or something else?

Does anyone have DC where they became a champion school during the time the DC were attending, was it announced, or was there involvement if parents beforehand?

Beamur · 26/02/2019 20:59

It happened whilst DD at school. No consultation or parental involvement. Just appeared on the school letterhead and sign one day. No big fanfare.

HandsOffMyRights · 26/02/2019 21:06

It was announced on Twitter, in a stealth fashion on the last day of summer term.
The HT now thinks I'm a bigot for raising the issues.

NotTerfNorCis · 26/02/2019 21:14

I'm getting 'page not found'?

youllhavehadyourtea · 26/02/2019 21:37
