I have read that Jeremy McConnell is booked to appear in your 'celebrity special’ editions of Naked Ambition.
I would like to ask why? Did anyone stop to think about what makes him a celebrity in the first place? I appreciate that the heightened media interest in a man convicted of domestic abuse could be seen, by some, as an added publicity draw for your entertainment production. But really? A man convicted of beating his partner - on a televised dating show? Have you really got no idea what a twisted picture f ‘dateable’ you will be projecting. You will, effectively, be telling young women that you endorse him as partner material, telling men that, regardless of their violent pasts, if they are considered to be ‘beautiful’ they can still make a living being held up as desirable love object.
Shame on whoever it was who chose to book him. If that person was male he needs a lesson on misogyny and how to avoid looking like a domestic violence excuser. If a woman she needs to raise her levels of self confidence and self worth.
Overall, I find the whole concept shameful!
