Study done on 30 people, no peer reviewed publication, no actual data to look at yet, mentioned by one of the scientists at a conference. It's all so terribly vague but I bet Pink news will be all over it.

Well, if they're going to start saying it's in the DNA, it clarifies the argument that a TW isn't biologically women, more a 'type' of man. It doesn't mean they're women!

You can't pick and choose biology.

But, a tiny group analysis, how many people who haven't decided they're trans have this? You'd have to test everyone.

Igneococcus · 19/03/2018 15:09

You would really need to look at the data and how they analysed it but we can't because it is something someone reported at a conference, possibly with 2-3 not very detailed slides, and there is no publication yet (might never happen). It's crazy to report it like this.

How does that fit with the flip flop gender people Confused
Also how did they define trans for the study? Old transexual or new trans gender?

Anyway more study needed.
Doesnt a genetic basis make a stronger case for medical review...

Yes - can't find it anywhere else on google, bar a newspaper In Australia with an enormous pay wall but seems to be exactly the same article.

Only 30 people in the study - but of course it will be the most serious crucial, statistically relevant evidence ever!

Igneococcus · 19/03/2018 15:17

Of course it will be rowdywomen

Reading the comments though makes it clear just how much confusion there is about sex and gender, sex and sexual orientation and also basic biology and genetics.
