I think I might email the freemasons and ask them about policy on self id .

This is what the Freemasons think about being a male only organisation. Anyone up for the challenge? At the very least we should probably inform them about self ID.

You can put my name down on a list of women who wish to join as a self-ID man.

I actually have no problem with men having their own clubs (as long as it is not employment related and therefore excluding of their female colleagues).

However it will be very interesting to see if these clubs are allowed to use the equalities act to avoid letting in trans people. And if they do, what their justification for doing so could be.

It really is the only way they can legally get around having to admit transmen. But do places like the Masons qualify as being places where it's ok to be men only.

I think they get around it, as a lot of men only clubs do, by membership being peer recommended so basically a sort of sponsorship system.

A women could attempt to join, as could a transperson but the likelihood they would get the recommendations to get past the starting point is unlikely.

At least that is my take on it.

What about those Greek letter fraternities/sororities in US universities? Are they trans inclusive I wonder 🙄

I know very little about US universities but my guess would be that sororities are probably very much sought out by TIMs and are probably full of woke girls wanting to be super inclusive.

The fraternities, given how much abuse of newcomers reportedly goes on in the name of initiation ceremonies, not so much. I imagine TIFs would not want to join for the most part.

This is purely a guess though so would be interested to hear from anyone in the US who has accurate knowledge.

I've emailed the freemasons and I'll let you know if and when I hear anything. I'll look at emailing some others.

To be clear I don't particularly have an issue with men's only spaces/groups. I do have an issue with them being used to gain advantage to the detriment of women.
I have both a dd and a ds and I'm conscious and we talk about equality for both of them.

These are all invitation only organisations. Your sex is secondary to who your friends are.
