Hello Labour party members that called us C*s/bigots/transphobes/unwanted/enjoy your erasure/you lost, other political parties that called us bigots/transphobes, TRAs, Lord Cashman, Cllr Osborne, Streeting/Raynor/Miller/Corbyn and Matt from Sunday Politics and co.

I don't hate you. I don't want anything to do with you again, you showed me that you are not fit for public office, I won't forget or vote for you again. You are imperfect humans working in an imperfect system you had power to change for positive. I am sad for you and all those you harmed. I hope you manage to forgive yourself, that you find peace and happiness. We all make mistakes and I hope you learn from this.

I emailed Cllr Osborne after his 'you lose a little more every day' tweet to concerned women about six months ago. I was very polite (I hadn't peak transed yet, and knew very little about the whole issue), just surprised by the disregard of women voicing legitimate concerns.

I couldn't believe the response, it was a very thinly veiled disgust, with a side of contempt and a hope that bigots leave the Labour party and never return. The last line told me I was on the wrong side of history. Not only had I not picked a side yet, I didn't even know there were sides.

I pretty much decided there and then that whatever he represented, I would be drawn to the opposing view. I hope one day I'm able to smugly reply to his email Smile.

I am not surprised you got that response.

I started this thread for two reasons. Firstly for people to understand the harm they did, lessons learned and all that.

Secondly, I don't want anyone who did wrong to harm themselves. I simply want nothing to do with them again.

This is all crashing down around them now and it will get worse.

There is a danger, now the pendulum has swings away from the TRA side, that the public will get very angry and there will be harm dished out. It won't be easy to live with. There will be anger at politicians that tried to gaslighted us all. Anger at public services that put woman and children at harm. Anger at blue haired TRAs who misguided by the likes of Owen Jones, kindness or innocence thought they were doing the right thing.

Poor English there, sorry.

I hope that genuine trans sexuals aren't collateral damage, but I think they will be, along with the children who are being encouraged. I have no sympathy with the TRAs, politicians and journalists that didn't listen to women in the hope it would further their career . I hope you're right, and this will come crashing down on those that deserve it, but I'm not sure it's over yet, we need to keep getting the word out. Brilliant work this weekend by Amy and SwearyG!

TERFragetteCity · 19/03/2018 10:22

Who knew two pairs of moobs would create such havoc?

Amy and Sweary G are the Springer's Swingers. Genius.

FeministBadger · 19/03/2018 10:31

Can someone link to what's happened? Feeling a bit confused!

LangCleg · 19/03/2018 10:33

I agree that there will be a backlash and collateral damage.

I said on another thread that transsexuals need to start organising among themselves now and begin to assert their own boundaries - no, they don't support Stonewall insisting crossdressers are the same as them; no, they don't support Mermaids denying the existence of ROGD. That way, there will be a distinct movement which (many) feminists will be able to support and ally with.

This is what A Woman's Place is trying to facilitate for them. If they don't take up the opportunity though, as people like Kristina Harrison and Debbie Hayton are, then they will have only themselves to blame.

If they think opposition from socialist feminists is an existential threat and equate this opposition to Nazis, they won't know what the heck has hit them when the actual right wing get themselves involved.

GabeIsShocking · 19/03/2018 10:40

I agree that transsexuals should align with WPUK, and within their own community self organise to campaign for their own fourth space, as women and disabled people did.

I also suggest those that have been very cruel to TERFs publicly apologise accept they were wrong and atone for their behaviour.

LBC have covered this, even JOB is peak training from #ManFriday and LM tweets about GAY.

Again, I don't want anyone to hurt themselves. I just want you out of public office then to stop harming women and children.

Now I see many within the Labour party HQ have resigned. Maybe it's time for Mayday4women to trigger their mass resignation?

It’s still early days. I think the fight is far from over.
