"As a transwoman this is the unity I want to see" -- Fantastic article by Kristina Jayne Harrison. Heartening, well expressed and a wonderful call for unity.

I hope this comes out as a clicky link as if it doesn't I don't know what to do.

This is a brilliant article and ends with the question-

How, whilst respecting the autonomy of different groups can we advance the lives, rights and services of trans people, of women and of all gender non-conforming people and lay the basis for future solidarity between these groups, not bitter enmity?

For starters the mantra "transwomen are women" is causing the animosity, not the existence of trans people or the rights of trans people to have spaces to feel safe.

Trans activists framing feminists as "anti trans" for recognising biology, and recognising trans women as a seperate group from women causes harm to both groups. Causes conflict and anger.

People in power need to find the middle ground it really is not that hard. A 14 year old could do it. But they don't because of time old misogyny.

What a great article. This is exactly what we are saying expressed eloquently by a transwoman.
