Support for women's rights: who to follow?

First post, so hope I've got the format etc correct.

There are many people in RL that are putting themselves in the line of fire to fight for women's rights. They are very brave and many of them are taking an absolute bashing for it. I'd really like to give them whatever support I can. I do not currently have a twitter account, but I am planning to sign up.

Could we create a thread here with names of people that we could follow and show our support. I think the more that we can band together in RL and SM, the more our voices can be heard and the more people we can reach. Those out in the line of fire can take some comfort in knowing that their support base is growing and we are behind them. They are not being silenced.

I'll start with the ones I have:
Jennifer James
Dr. Nicola Williams (Fair Play for Women)
Hadley Freeman
Lisa Marie @xLiserx
Sarah Ditum
Jenn Smith
Hope Lye
Peach Yoghurt
Jessica Eaton
Betty Bandit
Anne Veriato
Jaiyah Saelua (thanks to Hairy)
Posieparker (is this her name outside of MN as well?)
Venice Allen
Ron Liddle
Heather Brunskell-Evans

I haven't researched everyone on this list, so please let me know if I've gotten names wrong or such. Thanks!

The Sociologist who spoke at the recent Women's meeting in Edinburgh was excellent - admittedly new to the scene but he had a really fair grasp on things. Not sure of name.

Excellent, thank you!

Does anyone know if Lady G and Rianna are still getting slammed? Does anyone follow them and know their stance since IWD?

@giuliana_london is "interesting" if you want to follow a TRA

terryleather · 12/03/2018 18:32

Oh and I also follow @LogicalMarcus - he's a GC gay man.
Sister Outrider @ClaireShrugged

and I love Woman @XXCharleyUchea - zero fucks given by her!

ItsAllGoing You're brave following TAs, just seeing others retweet their bs is more than enough for me and why I have to ration my Twitter use as it's so bad for my rage levels...

This is wonderful, thank you all!Flowers.

Just a quick question as ItsAllGoingToBeFine posted a TRA. I have never used Twitter, so I don't know how it all works regarding people you are following knowing your list.

Would it be safe (for lack of a better word) to follow a TRA when the rest of my list is made up of Spartacus allies? Would that just make me an immediate target?

if you follow a tra then if you post anything gender-critical they will report you to twitter and your account will be banned. it's best to block them.

TheMonstrousRegiment · 13/03/2018 21:08

Thank you pisacake that's what I was worried about. I know at some point I'll have to raise my head, but I didn't think it was a good idea to do it bang off the go upon getting Twitter. I wasn't sure how much someone can know about you from scanning your posted account.

Does anyone follow Ricky Gervais? It sounds like he's making some noise.

Just a quick question as ItsAllGoingToBeFine posted a TRA

TBH I probably follow equal number of TRAs and TERFS.... I tend not to post myself, just retweet things I find interesting.

I think it's really important not to just follow TERFS, I'm willing to accept I may be wrong in my views so I think it's important to follow TRAs too for a balance of opinions (unfortunately they come across as anything but balanced!)

TheMonstrousRegiment · 14/03/2018 19:51

@ItsAllGoingToBeFine Appreciate your post, good point. I do agree it's good to know what's happening on both fronts.

My concern is regarding whether people you follow can see who you follow, and if this subsequently will make you a target if they believe you are anti their beliefs, and/or make others on your list targets too (if that makes sense). Has anyone had this happen?
