I just heard about them through Twitter: I read on LM's Twitter feed that Filia have supported the five demands of A Women's Place - apparently they are "gross". But thank you LM for alerting me to such an awesome sounding organisation!

They sound great. Let's hope many more follow. This BS has to end.

Not blocked yet - I also tweeted to LM later about the post telling us about the women's struggle (which I actually felt was posted in response to the backlash to 'gross-gate').

Blocked by Owen Jones a couple of days ago for disagreeing with him. I have a business account too so I can still see what they post should I so desire.

I thought arguing against Brexit was bad, but this is far worse.

Men, and a lot of women, seem to think only men are good at public speaking (my ex used to hate women's voices on the radio, for example) and that women aren't good at it (often our voices are criticised).

So, if LM is a woman, they should embrace the crapness at public speaking. Ya know, like wot us REAL women have to! It proves they are a woman!

My suspicion is that this particular individual has no genderfeels at all and is 100% junior MRA taking the piss.

I actually think they are 100% vulnerable and damaged, being misled by a group of people, and for that I feel sad. But it doesn't mean we can let it carry on when they are in a influential role.

And I just love the disclaimer at the sidebar 'not all tweets are by me'. so as soon as anything nasty is said, it will be 'oh, that wasn't me, a number of people have access to my account'.

Even though I think they're taking the piss I also think that the more sensible adults in Labour shouldn't have allowed them to take on a role at which they're so obviously destined to fail.

FiLiA was pretty good in October and is going to be even more awesome now it has come out as feminist (taking on Julia Long's point that if you're not gender critical, you're not a feminist).

Little OJ still hasn't blocked me but then it must be a uphill struggle for him to block so many of us. Madigan blocked me weeks ago.

FiLiA conference last year bought me ‘back’ to feminist activism, wonderful event. Fab organisation.

It’s in Manchester this year? Huh. Bit disappointing seeing as it was originally Feminism In London wasn’t it?!? Not that there shouldn’t be a conference in Manchester as well. There should be feminist conferences all across the country so everyone can attend. It shouldn’t have to be either/or.

Filia are great.

I was at their conference in October, it was awesome.

So glad they've come out in support although they did also release a statement a few months ago.
