Engender survey re equality

Sorry can't do link as I've already filled it in so it wont let me click on the start .If you go to the Engender site you should be able to find it. It's fairly detailed and I was able to put in lots of comments about women's rights being eroded re GRA. Also lots about gender stereotyping and the nonsense going on in schools etc.Worth doing I think although I realise Engender are of the 'trans women are women' school of thought..

Engender wants to know what women in Scotland think about their rights. This survey will feed into the report we write on the UN's Convention for the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

Other: My SEX is female. Gender is a social construct.

what is your biggest concern relating to women:
That sex is being replaced by gender.

It continues in that vein...

I did the same too. Also pointed that they had made it impossible for them to do anyone meaningful sex based analysis of results.

I just find the lack of thinking incredible - on the one hand the survey is all about women and the issues they face, on the other hand this is an organisation that believes trans identifying males are women. How on earth can they not see the conflict.

Started filling it out but with 59 very repetitive questions I lost the will to live. That survey is only going to get attention from the most dedicated sex/gender afficianados. Gave up.

Done, I have many thoughts about women's rights here in Scotland. Do wish they'd broadened the scope of what they were asking - kind of pointless saying it's fine that women have the same rights to open bank accounts men do, when women are still more likely to be badly affected by poverty than men are. But maybe this is what happens when you think in terms of gender and equality, not sex and liberation.

Thanks, ItsAll. That is allowing me to wax lyrical about the most vulnerable women in society. Cornton Vale is the women’s prison where some of the inmates were raped, I believe.
