I've just bought one of Hadley's books, on the strength of her being awesome on twitter!

HairyBallTheorem · 08/03/2018 22:44

Love Ditum and Hadders.

Looks like all not happy at Guardian Towers. order-order.com/2018/03/08/guardian-women-protest-owen-jones-even-spectator-feminist-us/

womanformallyknownaswoman · 09/03/2018 02:26

@HelgaDi nice to know women journalists at Guardian are alarmed at Owen's influence - cos yes I agree - I do now believe Guardian is anti-women. Paradoxically with a woman at their helm they seem to have lost their crusading spirit and roots - particularly for issues affecting women. Disappointing...

KittyMcKitty · 09/03/2018 10:27

Is it just me but I feel massively irrated by the fact that Justine has been defined by her relationship to a man.

Yes, it is annoying, Kitty, but par for the course on Guido, which is frothingly right-wing and anti-women.

I'd like to know who else apart from Hadley Freeman is on our side at the Guardian. They're keeping very quiet.

YourVagesty · 09/03/2018 10:58

I'm so pleased that Hadley Freeman is on board. I think she should jump ship to a better newspaper

SisterMoonshine · 09/03/2018 11:18

Haha love those tweets!

I guess they used Ian Katz's name as it is referring to the Guardian. So sort of relevant.

KittyMcKitty · 09/03/2018 11:48

I guess they used Ian Katz's name as it is referring to the Guardian. So sort of relevant.

But why is it relevant to MN allowing discussion re Self ID? Does Ian Katz dictate MN policy to his wife? Is he the Svengali mastermind behind MN? Does Justine have to ask his permission? All I can see it saying is “oh look tge little woman has an important husband “. Owen Jones’ parents were politically active - no mention of them. Who is Owen married to? No mention of his relationship status.

hackmum · 09/03/2018 11:57

This is true, Kitty, and apart from which, Ian Katz left the Guardian in 2013 so it's hardly relevant.

KittyMcKitty · 09/03/2018 12:05

And Owen Jones didn’t join until 2014 so not even the most tenuous of links.

SisterMoonshine · 09/03/2018 12:06

Just interesting as it is the Guardian they're talking about.

KittyMcKitty · 09/03/2018 12:07

It just saddens me that men are people in their own right but women’s worth is still down to their relationship with men.

ShackUp · 09/03/2018 12:18

Please can Hadley F start writing about this in the Graun? HADLEY, if you're on here and reading this, we support you!

Cunstancemarkiewicz · 09/03/2018 13:04

I love ragey, increasingly TERFY Hadley! Flowers

YourVagesty · 09/03/2018 13:05

I second that ShackUp

If you are on here Hadley, I saw your article in the Saturday magazine a couple of months back that touched subtly on these issues (I can't remember exactly what you covered, I just remember several nods in a gender critical direction) and I thought how brave you were to enter the fray, especially as a Graun journalist. And especially as a woman.

Oh what times we are living through.
