Jess Phillips MP read the names of UK women killed by men since last IWD out in Parliament. It is very moving and worth taking a moment to watch and remember.

Thanks for sharing. It was incredibly moving.

It took 3 minutes and 37 to read out the names of women killed in the UK by a current or previous partner since last IWD.

Well done Jess Phillips

Shame there was hardly any bugger there to listen to her

PerspicaciaTick · 08/03/2018 18:07

You are right Lotta, all the more reason to share the video as far as possible.

Not one fucking man there. Just a handful of people and all of them women.

I hate men.

PerspicaciaTick · 08/03/2018 22:56

But their names are there, in Hansard permanently.

OP - thanks for sharing this.

Miaow, that's horrendous. That poor woman. I'm glad it was of some comfort to you that she was acknowledged publicly

MistOnTheWater · 09/03/2018 08:58

I saw that yesterday and was almost in tears and shaking with anger, And no male MP's were there?

ijustwannadance · 09/03/2018 09:06

Heartbreaking

Xenophile · 09/03/2018 09:16

MIaow I'm so sorry. It's so often the case that women murdered by their partners are quickly forgotten by the news media but remembered forever by those that loved them.

This is why the Counting Dead Women project and Jean Hatchet's Rides for Dead Women are so important, these women need to be remembered, their names should be seared on the hearts of lawmakers, policy makers and police officers.

I find Jess Philips' respectful remembrance each year incredibly moving. The year she read out my friend's mother's name we all cried out hearts out again.

And the list of TIM

And the list of murdered TIM (who are more at risk than anyone else) was read by ...
