.... who spoke about the importance of International Women's Day and three actions everyone could take ... to an assembly of 400 year 7 and 8s boys and girls....

She's 15.... and actions included writing letters/signing petitions for free sanitary ware for girls on FSM, to wearing red on Thursday and supporting charities for girls in developing world

She said she was terrified and spoke too fast - I'm just dead proud she did it!!!

Congratulations to your fab daughter ! Your bit about free sanitary ‘ware’ did make me laugh though Grin (sorry) . I keep imagining sinks and loos being handed out.

Congratulations from me.

You have raised a great daughter there and she should be proud of herself for speaking out so frankly.

Well don her, and to you, OP, for raising her. You must be so proud. :)

ReluctantCamper · 06/03/2018 20:30

good for her. I well remember the fear of 'putting yourself forward' as a teen aged girl.

FencingFightingTorture35 · 06/03/2018 20:36

Well done her!

Do you know I am glowing with pride? There is no way I would have been brave enough to do that at her age....

And bless her she is hopeless at putting herself forward - but rather good at fighting battles for those she cares about!
