Interesting to note it is not just feminists - although faces of protesters are covered, one looks familiar.

Yes, she looks very familiar to the Woman shouting outside WPUK last week.

SweetGrapes · 06/03/2018 07:56

Couldn't really say though. Tall thin and balaclavaed...

Interesting that this makes it to the guardian... not really

GenderApostate · 06/03/2018 08:20

I’m talking about the Woman in a green top with her lower face covered with a scarf - there’s a clear photo in the Mail, anyone at last weeks London WPUK would be able to recognise if it’s her.

SweetGrapes · 06/03/2018 10:28

Ah! I see who you mean. Yes, maybe the same person.

And it's the DM not Guardian - I got that wrong.

WiggyPig · 06/03/2018 10:35

Fairly sure she’s the same person.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 06/03/2018 10:36

The article says they threw smoke bombs. I wonder if we've got that coming?

Somerford · 06/03/2018 10:40

That's Antifa. A very recognisable and distinctive group of cretins, whose aim is to fight fascism by behaving exactly like fascists. They are more high profile in the USA and have been responsible for a fair amount of violence, usually with the tacit approval of many on the left.

Censorship of dissenting views runs through leftist politics like a stick of rock at present, but those who applaud actions like the ones reported will one day be complaining about having been on the receiving end. I hope they won't be surprised when nobody rushes to their defence.

If anyone has access to university professors/faculty members could they share this link to the Heterox Academy - it's a free speech movement for academia kickstarted by Prof Jonathan Haidt:

heterodoxacademy.org/

I might start a thread to spread the word anyhow.

If it is the same group I suspect the snow probably suspended the escalating behaviour.

Believe me, you know if you've dealt with Antifa. The flags and hats are your first clue and they're very keen to tell you which group they're with. They won't join a discussion or debate anyone, they just set off fire alarms and try to vandalise the venue. Often a few of them will run around sucker punching people.

All of that being said, their grievances seem to come directly from university campuses so I suspect that they'll be firmly in the corner of trans activities. It wouldn't surprise me if events like WPUK were targeted.
