I'm so out of touch - middle-aged working mum - in my 20s had loads of friends within these communities...

My fear is that Ls are just fading away - Gs aren't bothered - and Ts are taking over, especially as this is where so much funding is....

But hoping I am wrong

I saw lots of comments under YouTube videos on trans issues (I think Magdalen Burns and Riley J Dennis) about viewers wanting to set up LGB societies.

Try #dropthet

I hope so. At this point T&Q have transjacked our lesbian and gay organisations leadership and basically behave like a hostile occupying force, policing homosexuals to defer to trans, to always centre trans before ourselves, to never defend lesbian or gay rights. So yeah, I hope there's a tangible movement evolving so that we can have our voices heard and quit having our rights destroyed by homophobes within our own organisations, using our own resources against us.

thank goodness... it will happen.... and now I understand the history - which makes sense! Yup, gay transsexuals did belong but no way there is a place for autogynephiles and their horrible sense of entitlement....

I think there is. Lesbians are being 'attacked' by TIMS with lady dicks because they will not sleep with people with penises.

Disgusting example of transactivists repressing women. Why should LGB have the T that clearly want to have their own way all the time?

AnachronisticCorpse · 04/03/2018 20:12

I’ve never understood why T has anything to do with LGB in the first place. The very idea of it is completely at odds with homosexuality. Gay men becoming ‘women’, lesbians becoming ‘men’, straight men becoming ‘lesbians’. It’s complete erasure.

The trans ideology is harmful to the LGB cause and yet somehow it has cuckooed its way in. And, unsurprisingly, it’s mainly straight white men doing the cuckooing.

Truscum · 04/03/2018 20:17

I’d be very happy with that (I fit into the G anyway)

I agree that really transgender shouldn’t be on there (or even old style gay transsexuals)

As far as I’m concerned I feel it is a mental health issue, nothing to do with my sexual orientation and I think conflating the two is dangerous.

One of these right on universities - I think Bristol, had an LGBT officer position, but they changed it and created a seperate "T" officer and an "LGB" officer.
Most responses were a mixture of "can we drop the T now?" And "But trans deserve more inclusion than gays and lesbians what's going on" but so far everyone has survived.
I hear more and more frequently that Transgender needs it's own rep because it's so different.

Horridemma · 04/03/2018 20:23

Well done Bristol for recognising the difference ! I really hope other organisations follow suit. At least then lesbians will not be oppressed.

Bartleby83 · 04/03/2018 20:57

Lots of us gay people think the trans madness is going too far and would be happy to see the T removed from LGBT or that we could all just be considered humans without these ever-extending acronyms. It's highly insulting to have the likes of Munroe Bergdorf (and her all her ignorance) to speak for me.
