A small and not well known part of the Liberal Democrats is trying to remove a chair for a variety of reasons.

But amongst them is this one about being anti LGBT.

If anyone would like to inform them of why some trans activists are openly homophobic and lesbians are not being heard. Or if there are any trans people who would like to explain why they don't agree with it. Or you would like to politely explain that at times it would be wrong to force a woman experiencing domestic violence in a shared space with a trans woman. Or you would just like to explain why this isn't scaremongering bollocks and we'd quite like a proper honest democratic debate which isn't led by a culture of fear and removal of people of people for 'having the wrong opinions' because on their own misconceptions and ignorance, then ooops their email address is

[email protected]

They would be DELIGHTED to here from you.

If you are a member of the party, perhaps you would like to raise the subject in other parts of the party too.

So why exactly are transwomen's reports of being 'the most vulnerable women in our society' taken more seriously than 'baseless rumourmongering' by actual women?

Oh for goodness' sake. I would have so much preferred to remain mildly liberal and accepting of people's bloody pronouns and all that guff, but not at the expense of the genuinely more vulnerable-because-smaller members of society.

I don't get why members of the party are not allowed to voice concerns that women might have if they are subject to domestic violence and how vulnerable that makes them.

Are they saying that no LD members who hold any role in the party are allowed publically or privately to oppose the upholding of the Equality Act 2010 in domestic violence shelters?

Are they saying that the experiences that women have with domestic violence and how that might make them feel are irrelevant and they just need to be 'educated'?

Are they saying that no transwomen are violent to partners and therefore any woman who is abused by a transwoman, be it emotionally or physically is just a straight out liar?

Are they saying that lesbians are not LGBT?

It is a most interesting line.

"She has called into question the rights of trans women -some of the most vulnerable women in our society -to have full access to domestic violence shelters..."

God, what a bitch that woman must be...

I hope the person who, with a straight face, wrote this, is also fighting for the rights of hot dogs, the most vulnerable dogs in our society. 99% of hot dogs are eaten -some even stolen off the counter by cis dogs who salivate over them, and then devour them WHOLE! 1% of them are simply thrown in the bin. They are given no protection by UK laws or the RSPCA. You will not find any hot dogs in dog shelters. You will not be able to get pet insurance for them and your vet may well refuse to treat your hot dog. You will not find a collar or lead that will fit your hot dog, and if you do attempt to walk it, you will likely have to fend off attacks by cis dogs that regard it as prey.
Yes, it's silly and it forgets the insentience of hot dogs (after the animal that provides the meat has been killed), but it shows what can happen when people force themselves to forget the dishonesty of naming something after something else, and start to treat the two things as the same.
We still have sex-segregated spaces, and for good reason.

Well, maybe it was badly edited and what they meant to say was:

'She has called into question the rights of trans women to have full access to some of the most vulnerable women in our society in domestic violence shelters.'

Sad to report she has been no confidence voted out of her position as chair for being 'transphobic' and against LGBT.
