And pointed out that Andrew's comment about 'a trans woman who was not yet a fully biological woman' was clearly a mistake, as women are not simply 'men without penises' and no operation can turn a man into a woman.

I have a reply:
We appreciate your point about the use of "biologically fully women". Andrew's intention was to refer to a transgender person who has had their preferred gender legally recognised under The Gender Recognition Act 2004. We acknowledge his wording could have been clearer.

We are sorry to read how you feel this aspect of the discussion came across; please be assured, the last thing we would wish to do is cause offence to our audience members.

Please know, your concerns have been forwarded directly to the programme's production team on an internal report of audience feedback. These reports can be used to inform future broadcasting and policy decisions so please be assured that your complaint has been sent to the right people.'

I know it was obviously a mistake but I thought it was important to point out, because the use of language and facts in this debate is crucially important.

Well done for getting a reply. It could have been a worse reply as these things go.

Hopefully they take it on board.

Swim England don't seem in a hurry to get back to me.

BBC definitely worth raising any bias concerns with. Thanks for posting reply.
