I dont think that explains the raging sense of entitlement and violence.

Google 'man pushed woman down stairs', there were at least 3 examples last year. 2 were strangers at train stations.

Or search for 'woman attacked for saying 'no'.

UpstartCrow no it doesn't but this thread was about 'simmering resentment' rather than out and out hatred and gendered violence. I have theory about that too although I am by no means as sure of myself on that front.

I think gendered based violence has a seperate pathology to general misogyny although the two will obviously be likely co-morbid.
