In the instance mentioned in the article (driving a car), I can see both sides of the issue.

The stuntwoman was hired for her ability to do wrestling, not driving. I am glad to see that she took a course in how to do stuntdriving so that, in the future, she can add this skill to her CV.

What they seem to have overlooked is that stunt people have to be insured to do certain stunts. If she can't drive, she won't be able to do the stunt safely and won't be able to get insurance for it.
