did a quick and dirty poll of one newspaper today, just a normal day’s reporting and there are 15 reports relating to violence by men against women, shocked is the wrong word, just thoroughly disheartened, this scale of violence is happening daily - and plenty more going unreported - and it’s so bloody sad

Once you become aware of it, you start noticing it all the time. I'm really tuned in now to stories about violence against women, and every day throws up a handful. Most people are so used to it, they don't even notice it - it's like wallpaper.

Dangerous knowledge, but empowering knowledge.

Totally agree and very hard to process and live with without becoming depressed by it all, don’t know the answer but wish this was addressed by people who have power to make change

Is anyone here going to Million Women March in London?

I will be and I think loads of the women here usually go.

About 20 yrs ago I read some feminist book and the author wrote something like

"There is an all-out global war by men against women."

Back then I thought, yeah, that's a bit OTT. It's not that bad. I secretly thought the writer was either a catastrophiser, a manhater, an exaggerator, whatever.

20 years on and I agree 100%. I didn't want to see it. It's almost unbearable to admit, but it is absolutely true.
