I've created a mumsnet account (and will make a twitter account) purely because of this whole agenda.

I feel women are sleepwalking into a nightmare situation because we've been socialized to be kind.
I've a collegue who has two teenage daughters who are very much of the thought that Transwomen should be treated exactly the same as those of us born with xx chromosomes. When she raised this issue with them, they said that Transwomen should be allowed to work in women's refuges because "They've felt like women all their lives"

These are two girls who very much believe in the - if you have to choose between being kind and being right; choose kind- mantra. They cant see the irony of that being the exact opposite of what Transwomen are doing in this case.

That must be so frustrating Muriel, I can't get past this idea that the feelings of abused, vulnerable women (and children) somehow matter less than that of a TIM Confused Or how the (often well intentioned) people spouting that view manage to convince themselves it's kind. What about kindness to the women whose lives have just fallen apart and need refuge in a safe (emotionally safe as well as physically) place?

PLEASE NOTE: this petition is via CitizenGO. A quick look at their previous campaigns on their website shows that they are anti-abortion, anti-'radical'feminist, pro 'family' and pro religious rights. Please be aware of this before you sign. I agree with this particular petition but would not like to have my name associated with them. Maybe better to email Women's Aid yourself separately. Or start a separate petition.
