The deadline for this is coming up (April 5) and very few companies have actually submitted their reports. My organisation is affected and I have asked twice if we are going to submit a report and, if so, who is responsible for compiling it but neither question has been answered. A member of the senior management team, in a meeting of the equality committee that I sit on, said he didn't know anything about it and I inferred that he didn't wish to learn about it.

Is anyone else working for an organisation with over 250 members? Have they submitted yet? Any advice on how to get them to take it seriously?

I want this to apply to organisations with more than two members of staff

Sadly I should imagine most won’t bother. In an age of austerity, nobody is going to police it. It was never anything more than another sound bite: virtue signalling without any real intention to ensure changes are made.

Yes, even if the information is published there would be no guarantee they would do anything about it. At least if the information is in the public domain it may help women avoid companies with large gaps. There is a reputational risk too, as the BBC has seen, and current employees could campaign for the issue to be addressed.

I don’t know how many employees my company has - spread over many branches - but from estimating I think it must be over 250. I’ve heard nothing about it yet. Just looked up on the .gov website and they’re not published - only 1 company from my industry is. And only 864 in total. Pretty shocking.

I may contact our GM about it and ask where they are with it.
