Just that really. I'm new to these boards and reading all I can about this issue. I am extremely grateful for the enlightening topics I've found but am struggling with some of the acronyms and abbreviations. Has there been a post explaining same? Can anyone compile a list? Many thanks.

Thank you - but I wasn't clear. I meant in relation to the whole trans issue. My fault - I should have been clearer..... (menopause brain....!!Smile)

Aha ok! I'm not an expert on this board though. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will turn up.

Here are a few I can think of

TIF trans identified female aka transman TM.

TIMS trans identified male aka Transwoman TW.

TERF trans exclusionary radical feminist (which is any person who says transwomen are different to women)

PERF Penis exclusionary radical feminist

NATALT Not all Transpeople are like that (not sure if this has taken off yet!)
Umm I'm sure there are more.

What acronyms have you seen that you don't understand?

GRC - Gender Recognition Certificate (what you get when you go the legal route of changing gender)

GRA - Gender Recognition Act (legislation underpinning above)

EA - Equality Act 2010 (which has single sex exemptions allowing women to exclude trans from certain services important to women, eg rape support services)

AGP - autogynephilia (cross dressing paraphilia experienced by some trans males)

Thank you. This is really helpful. I'm not at home right now - so I shall post again should I find any more I don't understand! 😀

EA on the relationship thread nearly always means Emotional Abuseexcept when it means Emotional Affair.
