I know there is so, so, so much more to do. But I stepped back for a second today and thought how much feminism has achieved in the last year.
I really feel like (gender self ID aside) we're starting to make some head way this last year.
Things like:
- The focus on equal pay with companies publishing stats this year and the BBC furore
- Stopping grid girls and darts girls
- The #metoo campaign and visibility of sexual harassment and assault issues
- That the FT did an expose with undercover reporters at The President's Club rather than it just being accepted behaviour
I just feel like we're reaching a great tipping point - lots of new feminist publications, etc.
Just thought today how much further I feel like we've come than the previous 10-15 years. Not a time to rest on any laurels since there's so much more that needs to change but felt like sharing my positive and optimistic mindset today!
