Carrie Gracie has been giving evidence all afternoon on her case with the BBC on equal pay. I’ve been so impressed by the lucid and powerful way she has presented her case today. She has really made the point about it not being all about money for her but about her work being valued properly.
The BBC have claimed during her grievance procedure that she was an employee “in development “ during her 3 years in China. Insult to injury doesn’t even begin to cover it.

I heard a clip on the radio where she mentioned she was paid less than half of a comparable male colleague. I hadn't realised quite what a big gap it was.

I'm supposed to be working but I've done bugger all this afternoon! Carrie Grace was absolutely fantastic - articulate, passionate, knowledgeable, powerful. I've been cheering her on for all she's worth. The DG is on now and it's so obvious, the difference. He's weasel-wording for all he's worth.
