Go Fund Me - anyone got a reasonable response?

Or even any response?

I have received 3 emails from them now, of the fishy 'send us all your id and social media links' type. They all threaten to refund my donation, but actual as of yet they haven't. I did use an obviously fake jokey name.

I know several people followed up these emails with GoFundMe and Zendesk. But I haven't yet. I just wanted to see if anyone was getting anything back from them about worries of phishing, rouge employees or just generally what the hell they are up to?

BTW have gone in and doubled my donation just in case. The movements in media engagement in recent days have been encouraging and i think can largely be traced to the work Jennifer and other brave souls have made since the fundraiser started. Still a long road to travel and I didn't want the irregularities of the GoFundMe to slide out of view.

Nope, no response.

I have on the other hand, started to receive spam that I never used to. Coincidence much?

I donated in my own name and another name.I got two of the 'identity' emails a few days apart and I redirected them to gofundme .
I heard nothing more until an email a few days ago notifying me of a refund of the donation to the alternative name.
I re donated the money using my own name without a problem and I haven't received any unusual spam.
Mystifying

I donated twice in my own name but anonymously, I've not had any issue or any spam.

Having followed the fundraiser since the first few days it's interesting to note that it fluctuates a fair bit so a certain proportion of donations must keep being refunded.

This could be JJ refunding people who request it but if it's coming from GFM themselves I suspect they have people there who are broadly sympathetic to trans ideology and are rejecting as many donations as they are able whilst still working within the T&Cs (maybe?).

I suppose the question is why they only apply such stringent rules, such as no pretend names, to this fundraiser and not others?
