Finally joined twitter

Morning all I've finally got my arse in gear and joined Twitter. Ive followed some of the obvious people (drradfem, a womans place etc) just wondering if anyone can recommend anyone else? I don't really understand Twitter! Do I need to follow the TRAs to see what they're saying or will things like that just appear in my feed?

Do you think that if she had worded it differently, say "do you think transeomrn are still biologically male?" the outcome would be different? Or do these things not stand any chance anyway because TRA's are techsavy and will just bury you in posts.

Whatever you think about the topic, they are a nasty, impolite and narcistic lot, generally speaking.

I think people have heard "transwomen are women" so many times now that that's what they expec. So if you ask the opposite, you lose people.

But yes, the TRAs are all over Venice' account like flies. That's probably the bigger problem.

If you follow a couple of gender critical people you'll soon link to others you can follow. I've also followed loads of humourous accounts because otherwise it would be so bloody depressing.

I follow BBC breaking news only.

I did follow a couple of local traffic accounts but they posted continously so I unfollowed.

If you're watching a popular TV show you can hash tag it and it's like the whole of twitter is on the sofa with you.

It takes ages to work out how to follow threads and comments.

If you search #mumsnet and read through for feministy comments, you might find a few more of us

The better question for Venice to have put up is, are autogynephilic transwomen, women?

You will find people who agree with you 100% on the issue but you're poles apart on others leave/remain pro-life/pro-choice red/blue religious/atheist Huns/ODFOD love/loath KH vegan/meat eater. Don't be picky about your allies but do draw your own lines, don't align with the devil to fight Satan!

See something funny ie 'Spider-Man wears Sheila jefferies PJ's like it' .

See an article/point that needs to be shared i.e. Daily express article pointing out government being advised by 'fringe lunatic group' re tweet it.

Come across young 'woke' person alleging they represent a political party spouting crap like 'lesbians who won't sleep with women with penises are trans misogynistic' tell them off then 'quote tweet' them and @ their political party or the press and ask is that really acceptable behaviour!

If someone 'likes' or 'retweets' you check out their profile, if they look like an ally follow them.

Even if you aren't tweeting under your own name/picture do not commit libel!! Be factual and get the message out there!

See something offensive report it! Somebody says something about 'TERFs' they are directing hate at a group of people, report it! Twitter are doing better at upholding complaints!

If you come across someone who's just a bit confused/wants to be kind but hasn't been totally lost to the #transcult direct them to reading material!

Sorry if I'm being patronising or teaching your grandmother to suck eggs but twitter is full of absolutely amazing women making well researched and educated points to their 10 followers!!! We need to all join together and get these women heard!

This is the academic who had funding for his research into detransitioners withdrawn by Bath Spa university because they feared the trans backlash.

He seems to be new to twitter (I'd expect him to have more than 200 followers given the press he's had).

Has anyone got any ideas on how we can give his profile a boost / get him more followers? He could do with some support as he needs to raise funds for his legal campaign.
