Great that this is going out to more sources. The more people realise this is going on the better. Labour are a fucking joke, and Rayner is clearly not fit for purpose being involved in something like this. Same with Wes Streeting, though I don't really know who he is

DonkeySkin · 27/01/2018 15:42

OK, I have posted my comment on the Times website, have no idea why I was previously unable to post it.

UpstartCrow · 27/01/2018 15:51

elektrawoman There was a thread a while back but it was short and depressing. Even the Womens Equality Party is on onboard with the trans activists, there isnt a single party opposing it apart from possibly one of the minor right wing ones that no one wants to join.

Consensus was we need a new political party that supports womens rights.

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 27/01/2018 16:17

I've come to believe that even with a GRC trans women shouldn't be able to apply for women's roles. They haven't had the same experience and disadvantages as women. Suffering and discrimination as a trans person maybe, but not the same as women's experience. Why not apply for specific trans roles instead which would better reflect their experience and discrimination?

intheemptyloft · 02/02/2018 12:21

Isn't this rather hypocritical of you? You're doing exactly what you are complaining about Ms Musson doing. She is not compiling a "hate list", she is documenting incidences of behaviour which will be reported to the Labour Party. It is then up to the Labour Party to decide what its rules are and how it implements them. The fact that it has already suspended some of these people suggests that these actions have been apposite.

According to social media, Ms Musson has already had some modest success encouraging Trotskyists and rape apologists to leave local labour groups, again by diplomatically requiring that people follow the rules or get them changed.

It's really quite creepy that you should be "watching" her; I think you should examine your own motives.

QuentinSummers · 02/02/2018 12:25

Im not sure who you are talking to inthe but this is an internet forum. We are talking about what's going on, not compiling a list of perceived crimethink to get people removed from their jobs or excluded from political parties.
It's not remotely comparable.

SameTerfDifferentUserName · 02/02/2018 12:33

Whoever 'Ms Musson' is I would strongly suggest she spends her time 'monitoring' people who are actually damaging the reputation of Labour on social media and not women sticking up for the own rights.

On twitter currently there are representatives of labour making the current 'claims'.

  1. Black women like trans women are a 'subset' of women.

  2. It is a hate crime to call a man a man but calling a woman a bitch is fine.

  3. Ignoring and mocking women's and trans concerns. Calling women 'TERFs' while using FGM and DV for virtue cookies.

Two of these people are male, one female. I find these views absolutely abhorrent and are the reason I will not be voting Labour.

This is same shit different day for Labour and I see absolutely no signs of them even attempting to tackle it.

Meanwhile their MP's block people for asking valid questions.

Ereshkigal · 02/02/2018 12:34

The fact that it has already suspended some of these people suggests that these actions have been apposite.

Does it? Yes, I'm sure the actions of the Party are always above question. Have you read 1984, by George Orwell? I hear it's a useful manual for such things?

SameTerfDifferentUserName · 02/02/2018 12:40

I believe brave new world, handmaids tale And especially Emperors new clothes would also be good reading!

BlackForestCake · 03/02/2018 01:30

I was very keen on Angela Rayner and Dawn Butler, very disappointing to see them spouting this bilge now.

Anyone know if Diane Abbott is a terf? Say what you like about her, I can’t see her being bullied into saying something she didn’t believe.

Open access link. Janice Turner nails it.

That's a great article. I'm so glad I subscribed!

QuentinSummers · 03/02/2018 09:01

Well done Janice!

OnTheList · 03/02/2018 16:29

Janice is always amazing on this topic. I don't think I have ever read any of her other stuff tbh. I never thought I would ever say that the times was my fave publication. But it is.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 11/02/2018 05:49

I never thought I would ever say that the times was my fave publication. But it is.

It's the only paper that gives a shit about women nowadays.

Speaking of women, this is interesting... looks like the #Labourlosingwomen on Twitter is coming true. twitter.com/ncpoliticsuk/status/961537001689370624
