I am worried

About lily

Are they living at home - where is their mum and dad? I am concerned about their wellbeing.
I know they are 20 and at 20 I was married with a mortgage and a baby but Lily does seem very immature- and that worries me.

Is there anyone here who knows their parents etc? I think lily needs their help.

Ok I don't believe they are in the right at all and lily isn't behaving well but probably it's the Mum in me who is concerned... yes I know I have been conditioned to feel this way!!!

Does Lily not often slander her parents? They must be distracted by all this. God help them.

badbadhusky · 22/01/2018 12:56

I’d be reserving my concern for the safety of the women named on the list, one of whom denounced the abuse loudly on Twitter yesterday citing the adverse impact similar, earlier abuse had already had on her 11 year old daughter. She pointed out she wasn’t even a Labour member!

This is not OK.

thesamesamestory · 22/01/2018 12:59

Can we NOT? "Lily" is a 20 year old political activist. We don't need to start mothering him.

scramwich · 22/01/2018 13:02

Sorry, but Lily is a 20 year old adult. We've got plenty of 20 year olds on MN, happily raising their own children.

Lily is a narcissist, but I think most politicians have that element to their personality. It'll probably help Lily's career in the long run.

scramwich · 22/01/2018 13:03

Actually, I suspect Lily is more likely to end up on Big brother, but I kind of feel like both career paths attract the same personalities.

Sorry, gotta ask, who is Lily? Why is it a worry that a 20 year old is left on their own?

newtlover · 22/01/2018 13:07

I get where you are coming from but there are thousands of kids out there to feel concerned about, there are people MUCH closer to this boy who (IMO) should be lookin out for him, not necessarily his parents as it seems they have been rejected. If I was in his local party, for example, or his tutor, I'd be asking myself serious questions.

Elendon · 22/01/2018 13:08

No one knows who Lily really is and as for them being left alone at 20, well unless there is serious adult learning difficulties involved, it's a non starter.

newtlover · 22/01/2018 13:10

If LIly Madigan's parents are reading this I can only suggest you explicitly keep channels of communication open but otherwise stand back. I wouldn't be baling him out financially for example. It must be very painful to see you child act out like this.

Justanotherzombie · 22/01/2018 13:11

Such a clearly passive aggressive post OP. Yawn.

JustHooking · 22/01/2018 13:11

I hardly think concern for Lily is a feminist issue
How about concerns for the women being hounded by Lily and their cronies

JustHooking · 22/01/2018 13:11

I feel sorry for the parents and siblings

BeyondWW · 22/01/2018 13:12

LM is no contact with LM's "transphobic bigot" parents, yet still lives with them. So don't be too worried, LM's parents are aware afaik of LM's umm... problems.

GetDownDog · 22/01/2018 13:12

Lily is an arrogant narcissist who needs to grow the fuck up.

Geronimoleapinglizards · 22/01/2018 13:17

This is ridiculous

Lily is 20. Lily is adult enough to be a Women's Officer. Lily is responsible for herself. She can visit her gp like anyone else if she's in need of help.

Her actions are harming other people. She doesn't need your concern.

cafeaulaitpourvous · 22/01/2018 13:18

@Justanotherzombie er no ... just a concerned human being towards another human being.

If something does happen (god forbid) some soul searching will be in order.

Lily obviously has some mental health issues ( like a lot of us) and it seems they are a patsy .

I know lily has done wrong - and will probably pay for it quite dearly but I think the puppet masters are more to blame.

Lily and get pals tried to out people and get them kicked out of the Labour party. Possibility to lose your job etc. Why should anyone have sympathy?

Twice by the look of it

OP posts:
Battleax · 22/01/2018 13:50

I was fending for myself at 20.

Notably I didn't make rape jokes, chuck my weight around, suffer from stinking narcissism or photograph myself incessantly or witter on inanely all day.

But then I was fitting FT working hours around FT study.

Maybe Madigan should try it instead of sitting on twitter, hand extended.

Battleax · 22/01/2018 13:53

Try to remember that twenty is actually an adult. Many twenty year olds around the globe manage very well independently.

Even those without ten thousand hand maidens and fetishists on hand to wipe their nose for them!

Didactylos · 22/01/2018 13:54

I have the same sympathy I have for any person undergoing a very public 'car crash' in the press or on social media - eg the hotel freebie blogger in the last week

I will not make personal comments or denigrate the individual but I am allowed to have an opinion on and make my judgement of the situation on their own documented actions, including the ability to take ownership of their choices and responsibility for their behaviour.

Perhaps soul searching and concern for any fallout from this situation needs to come from those who encouraged LM into a position of responsibility LM is manifestly unsuited for and continue to flatter and encourage LMs behaviour.
