Women's Aid needs your old mobile phones!

Do you have any old mobile phone handsets you don't need? Women's Aid on Twitter are asking you to send them to them to help domestic abuse victims, so I thought I'd repost here.Police must ensure all victims have means of calling 999 if their phones are seized as evidence. But they can be left without a phone and no means of calling for help as in this tragic case below:

"Please package safely and send to us at Ryland House, 44-48 Bristol Street, Birmingham B5 7AA - please ensure you have removed your SIM and reset to factory settings to wipe any data. This really is a lifeline - thank you!"

I looked that up to see if it is still current and it seems that Women's Aid don't want the goods but have suggestions as to where they can be recycled to their benefit.

Turn your old phones, cameras, jewellery, stamps and even old currency into a donation for us by recycling with Recycling for Good Causes.

Always worth a call to your local branch tho'?

What a shame about that as pretty easy to donate that way

Now, anyone know where I can give away my old glasses (eye type)?

I noticed a box in SpecSavers recently- you've just reminded me there's a few old pairs of DHs I've been meaning to take in.
