I've recently become addicted to a Gofundme campaign. Every time I press refresh the total raised has jumped up and I don't seem to be able to stop.

I'm trying to stay within Mumsnet rules here, so obviously I can't link or promote it.

Does anyone else have this enjoyable problem?

If there are funds, it would be great to be able to spend some of it letting kids know that it is fine to be gender non-conforming and that doesn't mean they are transgender. That means providing alternatives to or challenging the sources that kids get their information from:

Childline, for example, says this:

Or getting someone who actually is qualified to re-write the NHS page on Gender Dysphoria which is all over the place, and appears to say that it can be caused by an intersex condition, which as we know is a completely different thing:

and completely ignores the current epidemic of teenagers suddenly identifying as trans (the NHS page implies you start in early childhood and then grow out if it or not).

I heard something on the radio yesterday saying that young people today are fair, compassionate and committed to social justice. I don't agree. I find many of them self righteous, intolerant of attitudes that are different to theirs, and with a worrying tendency to punish anyone guilty of 'wrongthink'.

I saw some comments yesterday asking if there was a way to help A Woman's Place in putting on their meetings. If we end up getting refunded and A Woman's Place gets a donation button, that's where I'll send the money. Perhaps they could give reduced price tickets to low income people? Or get bigger venues?

But what I'd really like to see is an ongoing fund for strategic litigation. I'd donate to one of those every month.

Lang yes, strategic litigation. Start with that poor woman who was having a psychotic episode that all men were trying to kill her, then was made to share a ward with a TIM. I’m sure it’s already been thought of but it would be great if Woman’s Place picked up the baton and ran with it in litigation and lobbying. They are so clear and so many fantastic women are coming together under their umbrella. I'm short of time - already working full time and have volunteering commitments. I'm also out in the sticks, so anything more than the odd meeting is beyond me. Money is the one thing I do have. So I'd really like something productive and ongoing to make a regular donation too, for all the people who are able to do stuff but are skint.

I can do online stuff but I’m pretty much housebound at the moment (literally) due to a weird nerve pain thing which is being investigated. I just don’t know what would help! I’m doing my best on Twitter
