Goodness, almost like she knew about the upcoming Big brother house hold!

I am more than happy to call her she as she shows far more compassion and understanding of feminism and a woman's point of view than most men or 'transgender' people. (Unless she'd prefer me not to of course.)

vaginafetishist · 12/01/2018 20:21

I think it undermines a feminist argument if we 'award' she to TIMs because they are respectful or empathetic to women. They are male and 'he' is the correct pronoun.

OlennasWimple · 12/01/2018 20:27

I agree vaginafetishist.

But occasionally I might slip up when typing - or speaking - and call Miranda "she", and I think that both he and I would be OK with that. Whereas there are myriad TIM who would want my head on a spike for an act of literal violence if I called them "he"

vaginafetishist · 12/01/2018 20:30

I do that too Olenna! But I'm trying to be consistent. 'She is not a woman' is so weird and obscuring.

Ekphrasis · 12/01/2018 20:39

I do understand your point. And is what Miranda is essentially saying. At the same time I feel Miranda is someone I respect and out of respect I refer to her as she, unless Miranda specifically asked me not to. I guess this article says Miranda is not offended by male pronouns.

I must admit I'd struggle to refer to LM as she. LM types do not respect the fact I don't like cis. So why should I respect the she.

vaginafetishist · 12/01/2018 21:07

It feels a bit close to the tra argument that they have worked so hard they deserve to be women. But I like Miranda too.

Ekphrasis · 12/01/2018 22:29

Ok I get that.
